Super Undies recommends washing their products in a lingerie bag. This will help prevent abuse to your trainers from the washer. We don't want the the inserts getting caught around the agitator, if you have one, or a shell getting torn or stressed at a seam. This isn't a mandatory step but it is a good idea...of course we all know some washers seem to be rougher than others.
Prior to Use:
First safely check the trainers fit with your child. Try trainer on over something that protects the trainer but still lets you determine fit. Before use, ash your Super Undies on either a warm or cold one time.
If your Super Undies are soiled, remove any solids into the toilet. To help reduce stains you can immediately rinse the training pant in cold and throw it into a diaper pail or wet bag keeping it wet until you are ready to wash (Never do this in a humid location or time of year). You will want to wash your training pants daily or every other day. You may need to pre-rinse with no detergent and then follow through with a warm wash with detergent. I recommend just starting with a short cold wash or rinse cycle with only training pants and then adding other towels or clothing to bring your load up to at leas a half a load for actual washing.
You can then dry our products either in the dryer, or line dry them or a combination of both.
What to Avoid:
Please avoid using chlorine bleach on a regular basis. Chlorine bleach will start to break down the fibers and shorten the life and absorbency of the training pants. Please don not use any fabric softeners either liquid softener in your washer or dryer sheets. Fabric softeners coat the absorbent layers of the training pants and will reduce absorbency.
Tips for Getting the most from your Super Undies:
- Air Drying can help extend the life of any fabric including your trainers. Consider paritally drying in a dryer and then hanging overnight to complete the drying process.
- To whiten or lighten any stains, consider sun drying your diapers. Those good old UV rays will do wonders at removing residual stains. This works in all weather.
- 1/2 c. of lemon juice added to your laundry machine can also work as a stain remover.
Choosing a Detergent:
Super Undies suggest that you use the detergent that works for you and your family. Remember, if you start to realize your detergent isn't working, you can always strip your training pants and choose a different detergent. Do not using a detergent like Dreft that contains built in fabric softeners. Most any detergent free of enzymes, dyes and perfumes would be good for a great list visit Pinstripes and Polkadots and take a look at their Detergent List.
