Comparing Training Pants

With so many training pants now to choose from it is good to look at them all and compare and contrast. Each brand has their own unique features that make its training pant help meet children's needs in a particular way. I hope this chart helps you narrow down your best choices. The beauty is that you have choices. Great choices rather than nearly identical disposable training pant with mermaids or cartoon characters slapped all over them.

Day Time Training Pants: The training pants in this chart would be suitable for day time potty training. They have enough built in absorbency (hybrids with a single replaceable insert) to handle one use before being changed. Whether you like a cotton underwear feel or the newest prints to encourage your child, all the pants listed here would be a good choice. These are for daytime use and should be changed immediately after an accident. Eventually, these will be the trainers you use when going out, when potty training is nearly done and you want to be completely sure nothing happens when out shopping.

Nap-Time/Trips to the Store Training Pants: The training pants in this chart would be suitable to add absorbency to for nap time or other extended-use times during potty training when you might not have immediate access to a potty or the ability to change right away. These trainers have the ability to boost the absorbency with the addition of an insert. They also have PUL Outer fabric to keep moisture from seeping out of the training pant and onto clothing. You don't want to over-use adding additional absorbency so that your child is essentially wearing a diaper, the purpose is to lead them away from diapers. Your child is smart, if the training pant works or looks too much like a diaper, like pull on disposable training pants, then your child may continue to use it as a diaper. These training pants are a good choice for naps, longer car rides, or visits to the mall when the bathroom is a gazillion miles away.

Daycare Training Pants: Daycares are generally enthusiastic about your child starting to potty train if the child is showing signs of readiness. Talk with your daycare and see what their procedure is for potty training. They will probably want change of clothes and 5-6 pairs of training pants. I think they will be surprised by the modern reusable cloth training pants now available for the savvy shopper. These training pants will work like underwear but will protect the daycare's floors, furniture and toys. For naptime we recommend that you use a specific color and add the absorbency into that training pant needed for naptime. We like having blue be the nap time color. Communicate with your daycare provider. Let them know how your child's trainers work and which trainer is for nap time. The list before includes our best choices for daycare. They are easy to use. Familiar in concept and design. Anybody new to reusable products shouldn't have any trouble with these. Once your child is having good success, you could move into other more underwear-styled training pants that we have listed under Day Time Training Pants until you are ready for standard underwear/panties.

Night Time Potty Training Solutions: While you can't actively potty train at night per se, you still need something to put on your child. Many children loathe putting a diaper back on once they have adjusted to training pants. They want to be big kids. But we all know that big kids sometimes have accidents overnight. Having overnight protection is a good idea. It is a perfect choice for everyone to have a reusable product. Your child is not pooping at night, so it is so easy just wash and wear like underwear. Stop paying for disposable pull-up training pants. Buy a couple of pairs of night pants and provide your child with what they need until the bed wetting phase is past. For the heavy wetting child try the bed wetter solution Super Undies Nighttimes.
